What this is

A directory of home-service contractors working across Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont counties — the trades you call when the furnace quits, the roof leaks, or the drive finally needs replacing.

It is built for two things national directories tend to get wrong here. The first is that roughly half of Greater Cincinnati lives in a township rather than a city, and Anderson, Green, Colerain, Delhi, West Chester and the rest get folded into "Cincinnati" on most sites — so we list them as themselves. The second is the lead form: on the big platforms, filling one in sells your phone number to whoever paid the most that morning. There is no form here. You get the contractor's own number and you ring it yourself.

How the order is decided

Lists here are ordered by how established and how active a business is in the area you are looking at, busiest first. That is a judgement about visibility, not about quality — it puts the companies doing the most work in that place at the top, which is a reasonable starting point for a shortlist and nothing more than that.

Advertising is not part of it. Sponsored placements are capped at three per trade per city, labelled as advertising wherever they appear, and sit outside the ordinary list. Paying for one never moves a business up it. If you would rather ignore the ordering entirely, the directory will sort every listing A–Z instead.

The business’s own phone number and website, where we have them. The number rings the contractor — it is never a call centre, and it is never routed through us.

Corrected by the business when it claims its listing.

What they do, and where

The trades a business works in, the services it lists under them, and the area it covers — a home base plus the working radius it travels, which is what decides the city pages it appears on.

Declared by the business; we label it as its own description rather than as a finding of ours.

Who they are

Business name, the city it works out of, the year it started where that is known, and its logo once it supplies one. We never lift a logo from a company’s website.

Listings are free and always have been. If you run a business that belongs here, claim or add a listing — it costs nothing and it is the fastest way to make sure the details are right.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your phone number, or pass your details to anyone. There is no lead form — you call the contractor directly.
• We do not sell position in a list, and no amount of advertising changes the order of one.
• We do not inspect anyone's work or vouch for it. A listing here is a way to find a company, not a recommendation of it.
• We do not invent coverage. A page that has not met the threshold is not published and is not linked.

Corrections

If something on a listing is wrong, we want to fix it. Details change constantly — companies move, change numbers, add trades, close — and a directory is only worth using if it keeps up. Tell us what is wrong and include the business name and the detail that needs changing. Corrections are welcome from anyone, not just from the business itself.

Common questions

Can a contractor pay to appear higher up a list?

No. Sponsored placements exist, they are capped, and they are labelled as advertising wherever they appear — but they sit outside the ordinary list and paying for one does not move a business up it. That is the complete list of what money buys here.

Do you check or vet the contractors listed?

We keep listings current and we remove businesses that have closed, but we do not inspect anyone’s work and we do not vouch for it. Nothing on this site should be read as a recommendation of a particular company. Get more than one quote, ask for references, and get the scope and the price in writing before work starts.

How do you make money if listings are free?

From the capped sponsored slots, which are sold as advertising and labelled as advertising. We do not sell leads, we do not take a percentage of any job, and we do not sell or pass on the details of anyone who uses the site — there is no form here to collect them with.

Why do some pages not exist?

A city-and-trade page publishes only once at least five businesses stand behind it. Padding out thin pages with whatever we could find would make the directory worse, so unfinished coverage is left unpublished and unlinked rather than filled in.

Why don’t you show star ratings?

Because they are Google’s. Google’s terms do not allow a rating to be held for more than thirty days, and a site built as static pages holds whatever it fetched for as long as those pages are served — so republishing the figure here would be against the terms, and we do not. Every listing links to the business’s own Google profile, which is where the reviews are and where you can read them.
