What this is

A list of home-service contractors working across Greater Cincinnati and Dayton — the trades you call when the furnace quits, the roof leaks, or the drive finally needs replacing. One page per trade, one page per city, and one listing per business, each with a phone number, a website, hours, and a rating.

It is built for one region, which is the point. National directories cover everywhere thinly and sell the same lead to whoever pays most. This one covers Southwest Ohio properly, lists real businesses only, and puts the contractor's own number on the page so you ring them directly.

How the order is decided

By Google star rating, highest first. A 5.0 lists above a 4.9, and a 4.9 above a 4.8 — no business sits above one with a better rating. Where two businesses share a rating, the one with more reviews goes first. The rule is the same on every page, and the ratings are refreshed every month.

A business with no rating yet lists after the rated ones, alphabetically, and its page says so — absence of reviews is not evidence of a bad shop, and it is not treated as one.

There is one exception, and it is labelled. A business holding a Featured seat is listed first while its Google rating shows five stars — 4.8 or higher — and its row says Featured. Below five stars, a seat buys a labelled box above the list and nothing more: the business ranks on its rating like every other. What a seat costs, and what it buys.

What a listing holds

How to reach them

The business’s own phone number and opening hours. The number rings the contractor — never a call centre, never routed through us. A followed link to the business’s own website is carried by Featured listings.

From the business’s Google profile, and corrected by the business when it claims its listing.

How they rate

The Google star rating and the number of reviews behind it, which together decide the business’s place on the list. Attributed to Google, linked to the profile, and refreshed monthly.

What they do, and where

The trades a business works in, the services it lists, and the area it covers — a home base plus the radius it travels, which is what decides the city pages it appears on.

Declared by the business; we label it as its own description.

Listings are free and always have been. If you run a business that belongs here, claim or add your listing — it costs nothing, and it is the fastest way to make sure the details are right. Owner-verified: instantly when your email matches your website, otherwise we confirm with you within one business day.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your phone number or pass your details to anyone. There is no lead form — you call the contractor directly.
• We do not sell position in a list, and no amount of advertising changes the order of one.
• We do not list chains, lead-generation fronts, or businesses we cannot place at a real address in the region.
• We do not inspect anyone's work or vouch for it. A listing here is a way to find a company, not a recommendation of it.

Corrections

If something on a listing is wrong, we want to fix it. Companies move, change numbers, add trades, close — and a directory is only worth using if it keeps up. Tell us what is wrong and include the business name and the detail that needs changing. Corrections are welcome from anyone, not just the business.

Common questions

Can a contractor pay to appear higher up a list?

No. Featured seats exist, and they are labelled as advertising wherever they appear — but they sit outside the list and paying for one does not move a business up it. That is the complete list of what money buys here.

Do you check or vet the contractors listed?

We confirm that every business is real, local and operating, and we remove businesses that close. A listing is marked owner-verified only once we know who claimed it: instantly when their email matches the business’s website, otherwise we confirm with them within one business day. We do not inspect anyone’s work and we do not vouch for it. Get more than one quote, ask for references, and get the scope and price in writing before work starts.

How do you make money if listings are free?

From Featured seats, which are sold as advertising and labelled as advertising. We do not sell leads, we do not take a percentage of any job, and there is no lead form on this site to collect anyone’s details with.

Where do the ratings come from?

From Google. Each listing shows the business’s Google rating and review count, attributed and linked to its Google profile, and refreshed every month. We do not copy review text, and we never edit a rating.
