What this site is

Local & Licensed is an independent directory of home-service contractors in Greater Cincinnati, compiled from public business records. It is not affiliated with any government agency. Nothing here is legal advice, and a listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a warranty of anyone's work. We do not inspect, test, screen or vet the businesses listed, and appearing here — at any position in any list — says nothing about the quality of a company's work.

Accuracy of listings

Listings are compiled from public business records, and those lag reality. A business may have closed, moved, changed its number, changed hands, or stopped working in a trade since the last time we updated it. Service areas and the services a business lists are that business's own description of itself, and we publish them as such rather than as findings of ours.

Check the important things yourself, directly with the contractor. Whatever matters to you before you hand over money — insurance, whether they will pull any permit the job needs, references, the scope, the price — ask the business and get the answer in writing. This site is a starting point for that conversation and is not a substitute for it.

If something is wrong, report it — from anyone, not just the business itself. We correct it and the listing shows a new date when the correction lands.

Hiring a contractor

Any agreement you reach with a contractor is between you and that contractor. We are not a party to it, we take no fee from it, and we never see it — there is no lead form on this site and no call is brokered through us. We are not responsible for the quality, timeliness, safety, or legality of anyone's work, and we cannot mediate a dispute about it.

Listings and advertising

Listings are free. The order of an ordinary list reflects how established and how active a business is in the area being viewed — see how this directory works. Position is not for sale and no payment changes it.

Featured slots are advertising. They are capped, they are labelled as advertising wherever they render, and they sit outside the ordinary list rather than within it. We reserve the right to decline or remove a Featured placement.

Claiming a listing lets a business correct its own contact details, service area, trades and services. It does not let a business alter its position in any list.

Acceptable use

You may read, link to, and quote this site. You may not scrape it wholesale to build a competing directory, resell the compiled data, or use the contact details published here to send unsolicited commercial messages. The underlying public records are public; our compilation, ordering, writing, and photography selection are not.

Liability

This site is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it or from any contractor you find through it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Ohio. If we change them materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Questions: hello@localandlicensed.com.
