What We Collect, and What We Don't

The short version

• We never sell, rent, or broker your personal information. There is no lead form on this site — when you call a contractor, you call the contractor.
• We do not require an account, and there is nothing to sign up for as a homeowner.
• We measure page traffic in aggregate. We do not build a profile of you across sites.

What we collect

Aggregate analytics. Page views, referrer, approximate region, and device class, collected in aggregate to tell us which pages are useful. This is not tied to a name and is not used to target advertising.

What you email us. If you write to report an error in the record or to claim a listing, we keep that message and your reply address for as long as it takes to resolve the correction and to keep an audit trail of what changed and why. Corrections to a public record need to be traceable — that is the point of them.

Server logs. Standard web request logs, retained briefly for security and debugging.

Contractor records

Business listings on this site are compiled from public business records for the four counties we cover, and corrected by the businesses themselves when they claim a listing. A phone number published here is a business number already on the public record, not a personal one.

If you are a contractor and something on your listing is wrong, tell us — we will correct it and the listing will show a new date. If you believe information about you on this site is personal rather than commercial, say so in the same message and we will review it.

Third parties

Some pages embed a map from Google Maps, and listing pages link out to businesses' own Google profiles. Loading an embedded map means Google receives the request; opening a link means you are on Google's site under Google's terms. We do not use Google's advertising products, and we do not copy Google review content onto this site.

Service-area maps on listing pages are static images from Mapbox. They are images — they run no script and set no cookie.

The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes requests on our behalf.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing hello@localandlicensed.com. Because we hold so little, most of these requests resolve in a single reply.

This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
